El niño de las pinturas

A famous graffiti artist from Granada, has so many beautiful works spread throughout the city.  Each one, detailed in realism that capture my eye and heart. Meaning, child of the paintings,  many of his works illustrate the young faces of people whom he may or may not have encountered in his lifetime.  I love so much, the impact each painting has on me, with words dribbling from the edges, translating into provoking thought.

A true artist takes the most simple thing and turns it into a piece of art.

Life

Its appears that my blog has been slowing down, I assume it is the constant adventures that I encounter each day.  I can't complain, but I know several of you folks are in dire need of living vicariously through me (only joking).  Life is happening so fast, and I will further testify that life is HERE.  Granada has brought me life.  Life has begun to wrap its arms around me, and I thank this city and the people I have grown to love for this eye opening knowledge.  It is so difficult for me to express in words the exact emotions that rapidly enter and leave my body, thus I encourage each and everyone of you to find what it is that I am gaining.  First and foremost, travel, travel makes you appreciate those things you do and do not have, cliche or not, it is the truth.  I see travel every single day.  Travel from street to street, from one neighbors door to the next, to the nearest tapas bar, travel to school, etc.  We are all traveling each day, but few learn to appreciate our surroundings.  Travel has opened my eyes and ears to the world, there are days where I refuse to wear headphones in hopes that I can catch a glimpse at a Spanish conversation, and those convos that I am able to understand are a definite ego boost!  Travel has allowed me to appreciate my relationships at home, the support from family and friends, and the love I still feel and hope you do too even when we are so far away.  I have always known that my life in the States will eventually come to a halt, having been exposed to the world at such a young age (Thank you Dad and Mom), and I believe that this trip has pushed me even further towards a new life abroad.  At times, I wonder if upon arrival to Kentucky I will be anxious in thoughts of reunion to old memories, will boredom and depression find its way into the crevices of my heart?  I don't wish to be negative, but my thoughts are free in motion when my fingers encounter this keyboard.  Since our last conversation, I have spent much time in Granada, introduced by Spanish friends to different areas of this city, driving in a car for the first time in months, hiking to beautiful areas, photographing the nightlife, listening and sharing new music, and soaking in as much as possible.  Enjoy what photos I have provided, and I promise there is more to come!

He visited Granada in 1922 and again a few years later, many of his works during this time are inspired by the details of the Alhambra, in its geometric shapes.
